FAQs
What is unique about Leilove services compared to other postpartum doulas?
At Leilove we believe that the mother is just as important to care for as the new born baby so that’s where we put the majority of our focus. We specialize in bodywork for the mother to calm her mind and body to help her heal naturally so she feels grounded and back to her normal self quicker.
What if I need to feed the baby during a treatment?
We will always accommodate the baby’s needs first. It’s best if you can feed the baby right before the session starts so you can fully relax during our time together. However, if the baby is hungry or need your attention we can either lay the baby on the massage table with you and continue the treatment or we can pause and you can feed the baby wherever is best.
Do you provide only meal service?
We now offer meal service! Please visit our Food Delivery page for more details.
Do you provide any care for the baby?
We believe that when a mother is balanced, she then can provide for her family. Our services are unique in that many postpartum doulas help with baby care however, our focus is on healing the mother. Of course we are there if any questions arise or the family wants advice on a specific topic.
What is an abhyanga?
An abhyanga is very similar to a traditional massage except it focuses more on the nervous system rather than your muscles. An abhyanga completely relaxes your body and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system so your body can truly heal. Receiving an abhyanga also helps with breast milk production, activates internal organs, removes impurities, and stimulates the circulatory system.
What do I need to do in order to prepare for Leilove services?
We will bring everything that’s need including a massage table, sheets, organic oils, and pillows for your comfort. If you home tends to be on the cooler side or you care will be in the winter, you can turn your heater up before we arrive to make sure you are warm. We will also provide a space heater if needed.
When is the best time to schedule Leilove services?
We highly recommend booking a package before your baby arrives. This way you already know that you will have support. Often times if you wait until after the baby comes, it’s very challenging to fit the time in. As soon as you think about postpartum care, call us to book.
Why are your packages 6 weeks long?
It takes at least 6 weeks for your utterers to heal after giving birth. During this 6 week period, you want to make sure you are doing everything possible to support your body. Our bodies are incredible in that they can heal almost anything, we just need to give them the supporting toolset needs to do so.
Do your treatments prevent postpartum depression?
In Ayurveda, every form of depression is a Vata imbalance. After giving birth, your Vata is at an all time high, which is why it’s common for people to develop depression. One of the best treatments to calm the Vata is an abhyanga, which we will be giving to you at each visit.
